Our Murrysville-based law firm is seeking an Attorney with 3–5 years of substantive, verifiable experience to join our transaction-heavy practice. We don't just process files — we deliver peace of mind through sophisticated commercial and residential real estate, estate planning, and business services.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate — not just claim — real competency. You should be able to walk into a client meeting on day one, identify the legal issues, and execute the work product with minimal hand-holding. If your experience has been largely observational or limited to research and memo-writing, this is not the right fit.
The Opportunity
This isn't a "back-office" role. You will be a visible face of the firm, managing client relationships from consultation to closing. For the right candidate, this is a clear track to a Partner role within a dynamic, tech-forward environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Counsel: Lead consultations for estate planning, administration, and business services, tailoring legal strategies to diverse client needs.
- Precision Drafting: Independently produce high-quality wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, business formation documents, and real estate transaction documents. We expect work product that is client-ready with minimal revision.
- Real Estate Transactions: Manage residential and commercial closings, including title review, document preparation, and settlement. Experience with SoftPro is a plus.
- Estate Administration: Guide personal representatives through the probate process, including preparation of Orphans' Court filings, inheritance tax returns, and accountings. Experience with Lackner is a plus.
- Business Formation & Transactions: Draft and review operating agreements, articles of incorporation/organization, buy-sell agreements, and related transactional documents. Experience with PA business entity filings is a plus.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify legal hurdles and provide preventative advice to safeguard client assets and legacies.
- Business Development: Actively market yourself and the firm to grow your personal book of business and firm-wide originations.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and active license to practice law in Pennsylvania. Must be in good standing with the PA Disciplinary Board.
- Minimum 3 years of direct, substantive experience in estate planning, real estate, and/or business law. Candidates must be able to describe specific matters they have handled, the types of documents they have drafted, and the outcomes they have achieved.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage client matters from intake through completion. We will ask you to describe your role on specific engagements — not your firm's role, but yours.
- Proficiency in Pennsylvania-specific practice, including familiarity with Title 20 (Probate, Estates, and Fiduciaries Code), the PA Rules of Professional Conduct, Orphans' Court procedures, and real estate settlement practices.
- Strong analytical and drafting skills. Attention to detail is non-negotiable. Errors in legal documents create liability for clients and the firm — we need someone who catches issues before they leave the office.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and empathetically to clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- PA Title Insurance Agent license and/or Notary commission.
- Experience with Lackner (estate administration), SoftPro (real estate settlements), and/or Office 365 in a legal practice setting.
- Experience with business formation and transactional work, including entity structuring, commercial contracts, or buy-sell agreements.
- Existing professional network or book of business in Western Pennsylvania.
- Familiarity with local practice in Westmoreland, Allegheny, or surrounding counties.
